Don't get into the trap of worshiping idols!

[1 Corithians:10]

Friends, I want to remind you that all our ancestors walked under the cloud and went through the sea. All of them also ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink, which flowed from the spiritual rock that followed them. That rock was Christ. But most of them did not please God. So they died, and their bodies were scattered all over the desert. What happened to them is a warning to keep us from wanting to do the same evil things. They worshiped idols, just as the Scriptures say, “The people sat down to eat and drink. Then they got up to dance around.” So don't worship idols. Some of those people did shameful things, and in a single day about 23,000 died. Don't do shameful things as they did. And don't try to test Christ, as some of them did and were later bitten by poisonous snakes. Don't even grumble, as some of them did and were killed by the destroying angel. These things happened to them as a warning to us. All this was written in the Scriptures to teach us who live in these last days. Even if you think you can stand up to temptation, be careful not to fall. You are tempted in the same way that everyone else is tempted. But God can be trusted not to let you be tempted too much, and he will show you how to escape from your temptations. My friends, you must keep away from idols. I am speaking to you as people who have enough sense to know what I am talking about. When we drink from the cup we ask God to bless, isn't that sharing in the blood of Christ? When we eat the bread we break, isn't that sharing in the body of Christ? By sharing in the same loaf of bread, we become one body, even though there are many of us. Aren't the people of Israel sharing in the worship when they gather around the altar and eat the sacrifices offered there? Am I saying that either the idols or the food sacrificed to them is anything at all? No, I am not! This food is really sacrificed to demons and not to God. I don't want you to have anything to do with demons. You cannot drink from the cup of demons and still drink from the Lord's cup. You cannot eat at the table of demons and still eat at the Lord's table. We would make the Lord jealous if we did this. And we are not stronger than the Lord.


Mhhh...God is speaking so strong here and I literally copied and pasted the whole chapter for this article!We serve a very jealous God and He is this way because He loves us so much!Nothing can be added to this I tell you.Most people think the only existing idols are statues that people bow down to.We live in such tricky times that anything that has more value in your heart than Jesus is purely your idol.I remember back then when God asked me to give Him a heart that I gave a boyfriend.Yes! It's possible to give someone the love that you are supposed to give God and yourself without even realising it!God's people perish because of lack of knowledge.Some people  love their money,kids or their car more than Jesus and this is why the children of Israel failed and died in the desert!Talking about the desert,something just popped into my head right now... Remember how the devil tempted Jesus when He was in the desert?The amazing thing is the way He overcame the enemy using The Word of God.This shows me that temptations are some of the  deserts that we go through and we can ONLY overcome them when we fight back with The Word as well.Quiet frankly, nowerdays everything  goes so fast that we at times fail to reflect,take a deep breath and seek direction from the source and so we get in trouble...We can not play with temptations because there is a roaring lion around us always waiting to devour.How cruel!The devil knows The Word of God because he wasen't born yesterday!Unfortunately he tempts with evil intentions of robbing God's  souls to hell but on the contrary there is goodness that the Holy Spirit wants you to be aware of these temptations hence help you to overcome them.Isn't He amazing:)Yield to Him already!

We surely can not drink from both cups so the way out is to be doers of The Word!Now that we know that he's been around for quite a while we need to always  ask the Holy spirit to help us to descend.Without the spirit of descentment,it's almost impossible to overcome temptations!Every born again should be able to descend when the enemy tries to use The Word of God to deceive them.The sad thing is that he gets  many especially in the body of christ.Those in the world belong to him so he wouldin't be bothered.They are pretty much his tools.
Come to think of it,you know why he is so desperate?

 He is perfectly aware that the more we get englightened, the Holy Spirit is able to use us to reach the lost and win souls for the glory of God.

The Spirit will come and show the people of this world the truth about sin and God's justice and the judgment. The Spirit will show them that they are wrong about sin, because they didn't have faith in me. They are wrong about God's justice, because I am going to the Father, and you won't see me again. And they are wrong about the judgment, because God has already judged the ruler of this world.

It is critical that we know who we are in Christ and the only way to win is by meditating on God's Word.We ought to put it all in practice to not even give the slightest room to idolism.
